Pont-de-Salars / Aveyron
Gateway to Lévézou, in the heart of an authentic, unspoilt land
A small village in Aveyron, Pont-de-Salars lies on the banks of the Viaur river, just 20 km from Rodez and its famous Soulages museum, and 40 km from the majestic Millau viaduct. Located south of the Massif Central, close to Sainte-Radegonde, Trémouilles and Le Monastère, it is the most important administrative center in the Lévézou region.
Pont-de-Salars offers a rich architectural and natural heritage that reflects its history over the centuries. History enthusiasts will appreciate visiting the chapel and the Saint-Georges oratory in Camboulas. You can also stroll through the village's picturesque streets, discover its traditional stone houses and enjoy its calm, authentic atmosphere. Pont-de-Salars is also well known for its magnificent lake, which covers almost 100 hectares and is perfect for a multitude of water sports (swimming, sailing, canoeing, fishing...). With its peaceful shores, lush green landscapes and aquapark, the lake offers an ideal setting for relaxation and rejuvenation, as does Lac de Parloup, 6 km away.
Tarn Gorges
Aveyron abounds in natural treasures and pretty villages to discover. The region is renowned for its spectacular mountain scenery, deep gorges and verdant plateaus. You can explore the famous Gorges du Tarn (40 km), a listed natural site, and admire the imposing cliffs lining the river. Nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts and hikers will be delighted.
